Kitchen lighting
Kitchen lighting is not added afterwards. It is designed with the cabinets, because it needs a recess, a cable and a power supply. Here we show the lights, how they are powered, and what each house states.
In short
Kitchen lighting comes down to three points: where the light goes, what colour it is, and how it switches on.
- Where: under the wall units for the worktop, inside display cabinets and shelves, on the side of a tall unit, or built into the handle.
- What colour: the houses state warm 3000 K light, neutral 4000 K, or lights that change between the two.
- How it switches on: from the house switch, by a touch, motion or door-opening sensor, or from a phone app. Each option needs its own power supply.
- Power supplies and cables need a place before the cabinets go in. That is why lighting is decided on the drawing, not at installation.

The lights
Names and details are Gentili Cucine's. All six run at 24 V and are available with light that changes from 3000 K to 4000 K.
Mini Noor
A small corner profile in black anodised aluminium, recessed into the unit. Beam angle 55°, colour rendering index above 90. The length can be customised up to 3 m, and it accepts a motion sensor.

Malindi
A linear profile in opal polycarbonate with a slim flange, recessed under the wall units. Beam angle 100°. It comes in lengths for 45/50, 60, 75/80, 90/105 and 120 cm wall units.

Osaka
A surface-mounted aluminium profile under the wall units, with a front flap that cuts glare. It fixes with clips and comes in custom lengths. A version with a proximity sensor switches the light on and changes its temperature. It is the only one of the six rated IP44.

Oslo
An anodised aluminium light built into the body of the wall unit itself. In the furniture price list it appears as a wall-unit bottom with a concealed handle and Oslo light — the handle and the lighting are one element. Beam angle 100°.

Sirenuse
An aluminium and polycarbonate profile fixed to the back of a wooden shelf. Its shape spreads light at 110° in every direction at once. It accepts a motion sensor.

Vivara
A linear light that fixes onto 8 mm glass. It gives 180° of light, forwards and up and down at the same time. It accepts a motion sensor.

Power and control
The part you do not see, and the part that has to be decided first.
Low, constant voltage
Gentili Cucine's lights run on a constant 24 V. The price list notes on every light that a power supply kit must always be added.
Switch, app or remote
The basic power supply comes with a 4-, 6- or 8-way distributor. Without a switch or sensor, it needs wiring to a controlled socket. With an additional control module, the lights switch on, dim and change colour from an app — up to 8 lights together — or connect to smart home devices through the Matter protocol. There is also a remote control.
Sensors
Gentili Cucine's motion sensor works only with Mini Noor, Sirenuse and Vivara, and cannot be combined with app control. Osaka has its own version with a proximity sensor. For the inside of drawers there is the Kiton profile, which switches on by itself when the drawer opens.

What other houses state
Different colour temperatures, different ways to switch the light on.
Febal Casa
Febal Casa states a vertical “Apex 84” LED light at 24 V and 10 W per metre, in 2700 or 4000 K, on the outer side panel of the wall unit. On the DAILY tall unit, slim 4 mm vertical lights on the hinge side, dimmable, switch on from the house wiring or from a radio, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi control module. The power supply is ordered separately.
GF Interiors
GF Interiors has a recessed aluminium profile under the wall units, positioned 13.5 cm from the front edge of the unit, with 3000 K light, for wall units and display cabinets. There are versions for the inner side panel and the inner top panel, an under-cabinet bar with an integrated touch sensor, and a lit frame for the dish-rack wall unit. The sensor is not included with the recessed profiles.
Sira Cucine
Sira Cucine has an under-cabinet LED bar at 4000 K with a touch sensor: 1.9 W at 45 cm, 2.6 W at 60 cm and 4.1 W at 90 cm, with a power supply of up to 15 W. It also has the X FON light, which switches on with a motion sensor and runs on a USB-rechargeable lithium battery.
Callesella
Callesella recesses a 3000 K LED bar into the side of its larder unit, in white or grey, with an infrared sensor that switches it on when the door opens. The power supply comes with a 6-way distributor, at 50 or 100 W, and the price list states that it is chosen by adding up the watts of every bar.

How we design it
Our own approach, not a price-list fact.
We start from the worktop. The light under the wall units is the one you use every day to chop and cook, and its position relative to the front edge decides whether it lights the worktop or your eyes.
We keep one colour temperature across the kitchen, or choose lights that change. Two different whites side by side look like a mistake.
And we find a place for the power supply before the drawing is closed: accessible, ventilated, and large enough for the sum of the lights.

Frequently asked questions
Warm or neutral light in the kitchen?
The houses we curate state both: warm 3000 K, neutral 4000 K, and lights that change between them. Gentili Cucine's six lights are available with light that changes from 3000 K to 4000 K.
Can the light come on when the cabinet opens?
Yes. Callesella states an infrared sensor that switches on its larder light when the door opens, and Gentili Cucine has the Kiton profile for the inside of drawers. There are also motion, touch and proximity sensors.
Why must lighting be decided early?
Because the lights need a recess or a fixing on the unit, a cable and a power supply in a specific position. Callesella, for example, states that the power supply is chosen by adding up the watts of every bar — a calculation made on the drawing.
Can I control the lighting from my phone?
With some systems, yes. Gentili Cucine offers a control module with an app and connection through Matter, and Febal Casa radio, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi control modules for the DAILY tall unit.
