They arrived on their own, and for years now they have split their days between the street and the showroom.

She earned her name honestly — it means grumbling. She will look at you exactly like that until you work out what she wants.

All five are semi-strays: they do not like being shut indoors, however much we might want it. They are clean, sterilised and fed every day, and they come into the showroom whenever they feel like it — for company, for the cool air or for the warmth. If you have an allergy, do tell us. We wanted you to know before you come.

Our clients already arrive with their dogs. This is not an exception we make; it is how the space works.
The rules, as agreed with the cats
- Your dog is welcome.
- There is water at the door.
- The cats reserve the right of veto over any game.
- If the cats disappear, do not worry. They know where to go.
- No kitchen has been damaged to date. We intend to keep it that way.
An appointment means we are expecting you and the space is yours — quieter for your dog, and quieter for the cats too.
03 · The design
A kitchen in a home with animals
The style of the kitchen does not change. A few decisions do — and nearly all of them sit below knee height.
The finish on the lower cabinets. That is where claws reach. Hard, dense surfaces resist scratching far better than soft matt finishes, which mark easily and are difficult to repair in one spot.
The plinth. This is the part that takes everything: claws, water, the robot vacuum. A durable, replaceable plinth costs very little and saves you an unwelcome surprise later.
A place for the tray and the bowls. A cabinet for the cat’s litter tray — with an entry opening and ventilation — and a permanent spot for their food and water, which applies exactly the same to dogs. It is a decision about the plan, not the product — which is why it needs saying at the first meeting.
Whatever gets cleaned 30 cm off the floor. The height an animal lives at is also the height you wipe most often. Non-porous surfaces make a daily difference.

What people ask us
Can I bring my dog to the showroom?
Yes. Our clients already arrive with their dogs. Five cats live in the space — and there is water at the door.
Will my dog bother your cats?
They are used to it. They come and go as they please, so if one of them is not in the mood she simply steps outside until you leave. They know where to go.
Are the cats yours?
They are semi-strays. We do not keep them shut in — they come in when they want to. We feed them daily, we have had all five sterilised at our own expense, and we keep them clean and healthy.
I am allergic to cats. What should I do?
Tell us before you come, or as soon as you arrive. The cats are not permanently indoors, and we can arrange your visit around them.
Which materials stand up to scratches from pets?
Hard, dense surfaces hold up markedly better than soft matt finishes, particularly on the lower cabinets where claws reach. Which one suits your kitchen depends on style and budget — we go through them in the materials guide.
Can you design a cabinet for the litter tray?
Yes, and it is one of the things worth mentioning at the first meeting. It needs an entry opening, ventilation and access for cleaning — it is a decision on the plan, not something added afterwards.
Do I need an appointment?
No, but it helps. With an appointment we are expecting you and the space is yours — calmer for your dog and for the cats.
