In 1959, in Pesaro — the heart-city of Italian furniture-making, on the Adriatic Riviera — Febal was born. In the 1960s it brought Italian homes one of the first modular kitchens: the idea that a kitchen isn't a piece of furniture, but a system that adapts to the space and to family life.
Today, as the flagship brand of the family-owned Colombini Group, Febal Casa designs the whole home in one language — and invites the biggest names in architecture to put their signature on its systems.

ONDA — Zaha Hadid Architects
In 2025, at Milan Design Week, Febal Casa unveiled something few kitchen houses in the world can: an island and sideboard designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, inspired by the low waves of the Adriatic — the ones shaped by the sandy seabed of the Riviera.
The doors are sculptures: back-painted fused glass with a metallic effect, where the literally embossed wave catches the light. The aluminium frame, in nero or champagne, holds the glass like a picture frame.

The architect behind the World Trade Center masterplan designed a three-dimensional door for Febal Casa with edges and folds, where light and shadow play across shifting geometries — for kitchen compositions and living furniture.

The glass that ripples
ONDA was made possible by specialised glass-forming techniques: cast glass shaped by hand so the embossed wave could move from architectural drawing to mass production — without losing anything along the way.
