Organisation & back panels
The small things that decide whether the worktop stays clear: the back panel above the worktop, open shelving, the organisers inside drawers, and the laundry space.
In short
Kitchen organisation happens in three places: on the wall above the worktop, inside the cabinets, and in the laundry space.
- The back panel is not only a finish. A bar, a metal panel or open units keep everyday utensils close without taking worktop space.
- Open units go on the wall, on the worktop or on a bridge fixed to the worktop.
- The laundry needs its own fittings: shoes, clothes, brooms.
- Most of these are decided on the drawing, because they need wall fixings or a specific height between the base unit and the wall unit.

Freedom 2 bar
A bar under the wall units, in black or satin steel, up to 395 cm long. It takes hooks, a shelf, a kitchen-roll holder, a towel rail, a stemware holder, a knife block and a tablet stand.

Stripes back panel
A 42 cm high metal back panel, in satin steel or graphite, fixed to the wall above the worktop. There is also a made-to-measure kit with side closing pieces. It takes a shelf, a jar shelf, a roll holder, a towel rail, a stemware holder and a tablet stand.

Boiserie Line 03 panelling
A system of black profiles holding 1.8–1.9 cm panels on the wall, with profiles up to 430 cm. To size a panel, 18 mm is taken off the total width and height, and each intermediate profile takes 5.3 mm. It accepts shelf brackets.

Modus system
Open modular units that fill the wall between the base units and the wall units. When they have to be reduced, they are always reduced at the top, and the design keeps the shelves aligned in the middle between base and wall unit. The smallest compartment is 16 cm; below that, the top shelf is removed.

Open storage and drawers
On the worktop, on the wall, above the worktop and inside the drawer.
Countertop Modus
A 15 cm deep unit that stands on the worktop, with a mat, one tray and three compartments. It comes as a bridge version and a double. It takes a knife holder and spice racks with glass jars.

Wall-mounted Modus
The same open units fixed to the wall: under the wall units at 51–72 cm high, above the worktop with three sides at 111–160 cm, or as a tall unit under the wall unit. They come with an 18/19 mm back panel or without one, and the above-worktop units include hanging brackets.

Ponte bridge
A structure bolted through the worktop and rising above it, with or without glass, for a worktop 1 to 4 cm thick. Length from 90 to 150 cm. From 90 cm up it can take an LED light under the crossbar, and it takes hooks, a shelf, a roll holder and a tablet stand.

Cutlery trays
Gentili Cucine's website calls this tray Easyline. Its price list gives a wooden-slat cutlery organiser for Tandembox or Legrabox drawers, a universal plastic organiser, and a grey non-slip mat for drawers.

Laundry
Gentili Cucine also has a linear laundry tall unit, with one or two doors.
Shoe storage
A pull-out shoe rack for a base unit with full extension, a side pull-out shoe rack, a swivel rack with 6 or 10 black leather shelves, and a simple shoe shelf.

Clothes rail
A square-section clothes rail in aluminium with non-slip rubber, as a set with three hooks, and a bracket with hooks.

Broom storage
In black painted metal, for cleaning items: a broom rack on the door, a support for the vacuum hose, and an equipped wall panel.

Back panels, shelves and waste bins.
Febal Casa
Febal Casa has Omnia panelling for the back of the worktop: self-levelling panels that either rest on the worktop or hang under the wall unit, and wall panels 204 cm high. On laminate worktops the upstand is extruded aluminium with a water gasket. For waste, its price list gives BLOCK and PLUS waste-bin base units.
GF Interiors
GF Interiors has the Tune shelf, 3 cm thick, with a 12 cm high T-shaped front that holds objects and hides the light source, for indirect lighting of the worktop. The back panels of its display units change thickness with the finish — 6, 6–8 or 19 mm, with 19 mm not available for wall units. For waste, it has a base unit with pull-out bins, 45 or 60 cm wide.
Callesella
Callesella offers a boarded back panel 1.9 cm thick above the worktop or upstand, and a panel for the back of the base unit on an island or peninsula.

How we think about it
Our own approach, not a price-list fact.
We start from the worktop you want to keep clear. What you use every day — oil, spices, ladles — goes on the back panel or in a worktop unit, close to the hob.
Then we look at what is on show. In an open kitchen, the back panel and open shelves are part of the living room, so they are chosen with the same eye as the door fronts.
And we design the laundry together with the kitchen, because it often shares the same wall and the same tall units.
